Serve this yummy masala tea to your Eid guests, with some cookies or cakes!

This recipe for 2 people, and you can double it if you need to.

You Will Need: 

  • 2 cups of water 

  • 4 black tea teabags 

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder 

  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder 

  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves 

  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated 

  • 3 cups whole milk 

  • 8 teaspoons sugar

how to make masala tea

  1. Put the water, teabags and spices into a large saucepan, and cook on a high heat until it starts to boil.

  2. Leave to boil for 3 minutes, then add the milk.

  3. Once it starts boiling again, turn it down to a low heat for 3 minutes. 

  4. Put the heat back up until it starts to boil again, and then turn it down to a low heat and leave for 3 minutes.

  5. Add the sugar and give it a good stir and then put the heat back up until it starts to boil again, then turn off the cooker.

  6. Ask your adult helper to carefully empty the tea into a teapot and then pour into cups.
