Top these simple chocolate cupcakes with different toppings, for a bright and varied selection!
ingredients:
4oz softened butter
4oz sugar
2 eggs
4oz self-raising flour
To make chocolate cupcakes, use 3oz self-raising flour + 1 oz cocoa powder
Handful of chocolate chips
how to make them
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F, Gas mark 6).
Using a stand mixer or hand whisk, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Crack the eggs into a bowl, then add them slowly to the mixture, and mix well.
Add in the flour and cocoa powder, and mix until it’s all disappeared.
Line a muffin tin with paper cases, then share out the mixture equally.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly into the mixture
Put the cupcakes into the oven and bake for around 12-15 minutes, until they have risen and are springy to touch. Ask an adult to check these for you.
Leave to cool, then top with frosting or melted chocolate before decorating with sprinkles.
